Free Online Math Tutoring

Mexican American Student Services Department is committed to advancing equity, achievement, and opportunity for Mexican American/Latinx students through the following strategic areas:

  • Academic Achievement
    We work to improve academic performance and educational outcomes for Mexican American/Latinx students by providing targeted support and promoting high expectations.

  • Culture & Climate
    We promote asset-based and culturally responsive strategies that support the behavioral, social, and emotional well-being of students across the district.

  • College & Career Readiness
    Through expanded collaboration, we aim to increase graduation rates and ensure students are fully prepared for postsecondary education and workforce opportunities.

  • Family & Community Engagement
    We empower families by encouraging meaningful parent involvement in district decision-making and building strong partnerships with local organizations to support student success.

  • Professional Learning
    We provide educators and staff with ongoing training in culturally responsive practices to strengthen support for Mexican American/Latinx students and their families.

  • Equitable Advocacy
    We advocate for increased student and parent voice across the district to ensure equitable representation and systemic support for the Mexican American/Latinx community.

MASSD Community Advisory Councils

The Mexican American Student Services Department collaborates with dedicated Community Advisory Councils to help shape the mission and vision of our programs. These councils are made up of passionate educators, parents, students, and community members who are committed to advocating for and empowering Latinx students and families.

  • Parent Advisory Council
This council provides a space for Latinx parents to stay informed, engaged, and empowered. Join us to learn about your student’s rights to a high-quality education and how your voice can help shape decisions within Tucson Unified School District (TUSD).
 
  • Community Advisory Council
Comprised of local leaders and advocates, this council helps bridge the connection between our schools and the broader community, ensuring Latinx students and families receive the support they need.

  • Student Advisory Council
This student-led council provides a platform for Latinx youth to express their ideas, concerns, and visions for the future. We support student leadership, civic engagement, and educational advocacy.

The College Academy for Parents (CAP) is designed to guide K-12 families through the essential steps of college preparation. Students may become eligible for a special scholarship if parents complete the program. Please fill out this form, and a member of our team will follow up with you soon with start dates and time.
 

Parent Prevention Academy

The  Parent Prevention Academy is an informative and engaging program aimed at equipping parents with valuable skills and knowledge to navigate important topics related to youth well-being and Drug prevention this will be held at:
Menlo Family Recourse Center | 1100 W Fresno St.
Middle school and high school students are welcome to attend.
